Oz Seals’ super polymers stand out from conventional materials, being both thermoset and spin-cast. Our thermoset polyurethane delivers exceptional performance with a broad spectrum of properties—most notably superior resistance to fluids and moisture.

Nitrile has excellent resistance to petroleum products and its ability to be compounded for service over a wide temperature range has made it a very popular material.

Nitrile has an average temperature range as well as chemical resistance to petroleum-based oils, but decreases low temperature flexibility. Nitrile provides good compression set and tear resistance, cold flow and abrasion resistance. The major limiting properties of Nitrile are its poor ozone and weather resistance and moderate heat resistance.

Features

  • Good mechanical resistance
  • Resistance to fuel. Mineral oils and common solvents
  • Low compression set
  • Good heat resistance up to l000°C – Preferred material

HNBR has improved abrasion resistance while still retaining its high elasticity. Offering high levels of oil and heat resistance, providing a service temperature range of -20°C to 150°C and can even last for a short time in hot air up to 180°C.

It is resistant to non-polar and low-polar media (vegetable and animal fats) and in particular, min-eral oils (lubricating oils, hydraulic oils or fuels}, aliphatic hydrocarbons and HFA-, HFB-, HFC- liquids. It is also well-suited for the use in water, diluted inorganic acids and alkalis. Providing an optimal explosive decompression resistance.

Features

  • Hydrogenated acrylonitrile butadiene rubber
  • Suitable for applications involving aliphatic hydrocarbons such as fuel. propane, butane, mineral oils and greases
  • May be used in diluted acids, alkalis and salt solutions

Oz EPDM has good resistance to hot water, steam and vegetable oils. The material has outstanding resistance to weathering and is compatible to other numerous units. EPDM has very good mechanical properties and is recommended for using in steam.

Features

  • Good at low temperatures
  • Good resistance to hot water, steam and vegetable oils
  • Outstanding resistance to weathering
  • Numerous other compatible units
  • Low compression set

The material has very good low temperature properties, high resistance to ozone, aging and weathering, as well as polar solvents (alcohols, ketones, esters) and HFC liquids and Glycol based brake fluids. However, it is not resistant to petroleum products, fats and oils.

Features

  • Good at low temperatures
  • Good resistance to hot water, steam and vegetable oils
  • Outstanding resistance to weathering
  • Numerous other compatible units
  • Low compression set

Neoprene rubber is a highly resistant material and is used for a variety of outdoor and marine applications. OZ NEO, is produced by the polymerization of chloroprene. Neoprene rubber resists degradation more than natural or synthetic rubber.

Features

  • High performance urethane
  • Nylon
  • Resistance in ammonia

Oz Viton has a high chemical resistance and is suitable at high temperatures. But it loses the elasticity at moderate low temperatures. The service temperature range is from -20° C to 200°C.

Example of applications include: lip seals, seals for offshore applications, direct contact with fuel. rotary seals at high velocity and for applications around 200°C.

Features

  • Good mechanical resistance
  • Superior resistance to hostile environment
  • Good weather resistance
  • Low compression set
  • High temperature resistance
Food Grade

Aflas Extreme (TFE) has an excellent acid base, with extreme heat resistance and
chemical compatibility. Perfect for steam resistance, and contains highly excellent
resistances to aggressive oil, lubricants and coolants. Offering an exceptional explosive
decompression resistance. Because of a higher media resistance, it is recommended in the following situations:

– 100% Methanol
– Steam up to 160 C (special types to 200 C)
– Bases and amines

Features

  • Excellent resistance to aggressive oil, lubricants and coolants
  • Exhibits excellent acid base and steam resistance
  • Mainly used in chemical and offshore industries
  • Highly resistant to HFC, HFD, Amines as well as brake fluids D0T3 and D0T

OZ SILICONE has a a great temperature range and has high resistance to low and high temperatures . It is metal detectable and concerning the chemical composition, silicone is often used in the food industry. One of the disadvantage of silicone is its low resistance against oil and greases. OZ SILICONE is also an excellent food grade material.

Features

  • Excellent food grade material
  • Metal detectable
  • Heat resistance
  • Great temperature range
